Â
Both contemporary and traditional services are held at Grove UMC. Â Music includes both contemporary and traditional hymns, as well as anthems by our Chancel Choir, handbell choir, and/or special music. Â We have a childrenâs time near the beginning of our service, after which kids have the opportunity to retire to âChildrenâs Churchâ or return to sit with their families. Â We have a time for prayers and praises, tithes and offerings, and then the message. Communion is offered on appropriate holy days and on the first Sunday of each month, following the message. We close our service with a hymn and a benediction.
Sunday morning is a Drive-In Hybrid Worship (people can remain in their cars or bring a chair or blanket and sit outside.) You don't have to brush your teeth, but masks and social distancing apply to all in attendance. :) Â Reservations are NOT required to attend the Hybrid worship, but if you will call the church office at 540-639-2807, we will make sure we have a spot reserved for you. Online worship services are also available, via our YouTube page or this website.
Â
There is no dress code. When you come to worship, feel free to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. You will see casual dress to business attire. We believe God loves us as we are.
Â
Before COVID-19:
Children are welcome at Grove. We have Sunday School classes before Sunday service and a Children's Time during our worship service. We also provide a nursery during Sunday School and Sunday service.
Presently:
Children are always welcome at Grove UMC. Children's moments are being offered, but children are to remain with their parents and, if over 2 years of age and are able, like their favorite superhero, in order to keep others safe, are asked to wear a mask!
Â
You do not have to be a member of Grove, a United Methodist, or a member of any church to receive communion. The Lordâs table is open to all.

The best place to learn is by meeting with our minister (540-639-2807), but you can also learn a great deal by visiting UMC.org, where youâll find numerous informative articles and FAQs on the United Methodist Church.  Additionally, you can visit Holston.org, where you can learn more about our conference.
